General Questions
Why prize money for game developers?
Independent game development is expensive and risky. Our prize money provides non-dilutive funding so studios can keep building without giving up equity or creative control. The connections and exposure from the competition often open doors that matter even more than the cash.
How will C-Tribe ensure that the prize processes are inclusive and equitable?
All applications are reviewed blind by a diverse panel of judges drawn from different studios, platforms, and backgrounds. Judging criteria are published in advance and applied consistently.
How much prize money can applicants receive?
The total prize pool is $20,000 CAD. First place receives $10,000 CAD, second place $5,000 CAD, third place $3,000 CAD, and four runners-up each receive $500 CAD.
Will the judging committee or reviewers have to sign an NDA?
Yes. All judges and reviewers are required to sign non-disclosure agreements before reviewing any applications. Your game IP is protected throughout the process.
What is the composition of a strong game development project to submit?
A strong submission has a playable build or compelling demo, clear gameplay mechanics, a distinct art direction, and a narrative vision. Show us what makes your game unique and why players will care. A polished vertical slice is more persuasive than a broad prototype.
Who is eligible to apply for the Pitch Quest?
Game developers and aspiring studio owners with a team of at least 2 members, who are 18 years or older. Games must target Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Mac, or Linux. Preference is given to unreleased games, but launched games are accepted.

Application & Eligibility
Do I need a legal company formed to apply?
To be eligible, you must be engaged in a venture that is legally constituted and recognized under the law. Global companies and studios are eligible to apply.
Can I apply if I'm not a Canadian citizen or a Canadian company?
Yes, we encourage studios globally to apply. You must have a comparable legal entity in your respective jurisdiction.
Can I submit more than one game development project?
Yes, but we recommend focusing on the project you believe has the most potential. Each lead can only head one submission.
What platforms are supported?
Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux. Mobile-only games are not eligible for this competition.
What will happen if I submit my application after the deadline?
We will not accept any applications submitted after the deadlines. Please make sure you submit your application before the relevant deadline.
