Pitch Quest FAQ | C-Tribe x Gaming Festival & Conference

Traditional investment processes don’t always manage to spotlight all the remarkable business concepts out there. Prize competitions open platforms for more underestimated game developers to showcase their ideas, triggering innovation and fostering conversation among participants, spectators and investors who may not usually intersect. The C-Tribe x Gaming Pitch Quest is structured to serve a vast spectrum of stakeholders, extending beyond just the funding recipients. Many teams will be given the opportunity for peer assistance and mentorship to fine-tune their ventures. Additionally, all eligible developers will benefit from constructive feedback on their ideas.

Keep in mind that not every topic needs a slide of its own. Try to combine your points and be mindful of your time. You’ll have 3 minutes to pitch followed by a 3 min Q&A

• What’s Your Hook: What’s your game or entertainment project about? What is the experience you’re trying to capture? What makes it different, and why does it matter? Try describing it in just two sentences and use simple and powerful words that create a vivid image in the audience’s mind. You only have a limited amount of time to capture your audience’s attention and make them curious about your game, so make it good!

 • About You/Your Team: Your game idea is insufficient to win a competition. You must also show you have the skills, grit and passion to make it happen. Showcase your portfolio of accomplishments and how you and your team work together effectively. How are you uniquely qualified to bring this project to life? Why is this something you’re passionate about creating? 

• Genre & Category: To help your audience quickly understand your concept, tell us about the crucial elements of your genre(s). Comparing it to key elements of other popular titles can help connect the dots for the judges. 

• Gameplay & Mechanics: How does one play? You don’t have to go into full detail, but make sure your audience clearly understands the core mechanics. Visuals through prototype capture and flow charts can really help here. If possible, use visuals, sounds, videos, prototypes, or demos to illustrate your game mechanics and scenarios. 

• Target Audience: You have a game concept, but who is it for? How big is the market you’re zoning in on? It’s important to show that there’s a market of consumers who will be interested in what you have to offer. Think about their age, interests, typical gaming platforms and habits. 

• Target Platform: Which platforms will you be releasing on? Will your game be PC-only, for all sorts of consoles, or a mobile-first experience? Tell us how you made this decision and how your demographics and market research played into it. 

• Marketing Strategy: How will you compete with other offerings or potentially monetize? Now that you’ve shown us there’s a market for your game, how will you meet those needs? 

• Project Plan & Timeline: Include a list of key dates and milestones, as well as any information showing your management and effectiveness. It’s okay if you’re in the conceptualization phase. Let us know what goals you’re working towards! 

• Your Ask: How can the C-Tribe x Gaming network support you? What are you trying to obtain from the panelists and audience? Are you looking for funding? Feedback? Connections? Keep in mind that pitching is part of the art of effective persuasion. Make it clear and concise. 

Prepare for questions: your pitch is not the end of the conversation. It is the beginning of a dialogue with the audience. Be prepared to answer questions, address concerns and provide a more thorough look at your game idea. Having index slides to aid the Q&A period will be the most helpful here.
